Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress. In the last decade she has been working on film and television. The actress has won several awards, among them the 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was raised in New York New York and fostered by an aunt who lived in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett's mother had split from her father when she was around five. She and her younger sister moved to St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett when she was in high school watched John Steinbeck's stage play Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she made the decision to pursue acting. In the year 1980, Bassett completed her studies at Yale University New Haven Connecticut with an undergraduate degree in African American studies. She also received a degree from The Yale School of Drama. In 1997, she was married Courtney B. Vance who was also an actor. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1981. Master in Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (7th grade), Azalea Middle School (8th and 9th grades), Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett currently works in one of her main characters, Ramonda, in the action-adventure movie i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
